Marriage counseling also called couples therapy, is a type of psychotherapy. Marriage counseling helps couples of all types recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships. Through marriage counseling, you can make thoughtful decisions about rebuilding and strengthening your relationship or even if you decide to severe tides. Marriage counseling typically includes both partners, but sometimes one partner chooses to work with a therapist alone.
Healing Hearts treatment plan depends on the situation. Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) is another form of psychotherapy that addresses the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect not only individual family members, but also relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole. As such, treatment is usually divided between time spent on individual therapy and time spent on couple therapy, family therapy, or both, if necessary.
MFT may also be referred to as couple and family therapy, couple counseling, marriage counseling, or family counseling. Marriage counseling will be offered from licensed mental health therapist Brian Dilosa. Our counseling option is often short term therefore we recommend 12 weeks of counseling, but we always look to tailor it to what fits you best.
At the end of 12 weeks clients may choose to discontinue sessions. However, majority of our clients choose to extend their counsel throughout their life journey.
